I can see Spring, in a cotton housedress like the ones my mother and grandmother wore when I was little, with her hair bound up in a bandanna and her broom firmly in her hand.

That was my image too, of your mother, I suppose, although I’m not sure I ever saw her dressed that way. Still, she’s in my head!
